The Clan Johnston/e - Association of Australia was established in 1985 with the support of the Clan Chief in Scotland, the Earl of Annandale and Hartfell.

The aim of the Association is to promote clan activities in Australia.


The Association is non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian. Its activities are run by volunteers. No officer receives any remuneration.


The association is affiliated with the Scottish Australia Heritage Council, and liaises with Johnston/e associations in the USA, New Zealand and Britain.


The Association has Commissioners in four regions.

The names Johnston, Johnstone, Johnson and Johnstoun are variants, and all persons with or related to these names, and others having any interest in the family of Johnston/e, are eligible to join the association. There are a number of Johnson's in America and England who trace their ancestry to Johnston/e. We welcome all enquiries.
